WINTER IN YORKSHIRE DOESN’T AFFORD US THE KINDEST WEATHER IN THE WORLD. BUT HERE ARE WAYS OF MAKING OUR HOMES FAR MORE ENERGY-EFFICIENT - AND THEREFORE CHEAPER AND MORE ECONOMICAL TO HEAT DURING THE COLDER MONTHS.

Winter in Yorkshire doesn’t afford us the kindest weather in the world - especially in Huddersfield. Bitterly cold, constantly wet, aggressively windy and, to top it off, the occasional flurry of snow - it’s the time of year our homes most require heating, which can hit us in the pocket.

It is widely acknowledged that around 35% of the heat in houses is lost through walls, windows and doors that aren’t properly insulated or have gaps around their openings.

However, there are ways of making our homes far more energy-efficient - and therefore cheaper and more economical to heat during the colder months. One of the most effective methods is to install energy efficient windows and doors to boost insulation, limit loss of heat and retain as much warmth from our heating as possible.

Lockwood Windows are specialists in energy-efficiency and don’t compromise on the quality of our products - here is more information on our window systems and composite doors.

Energy-efficient window systems

All windows installed by Lockwood Windows adhere to the latest building regulations in regards to thermal loss, with homes now required to be as energy-efficient as possible. Following significant investment, we only provide the most energy-efficient and secure window systems available on the market today - aided by both the Pilkington KS glass, and Pilkington energiKare double-glazing glass, used in our products.

As well as concerns in regards to thermal loss, Lockwood Windows also prioritise security. We help our customers to select the most suitable windows for their home, and ensure maximum performance and security.

Composite doors

In addition to our wide selection of windows, Lockwood Windows also specialise in composite doors. An extremely secure range of residential doors, including French and stable door options, that are available in a wide selection of styles and colours, all of our products are manufactured using a Kommerling outer frame, reinforced with galvanised steel.

To maximise thermal efficiency, our doors have a 48mm thick solid hardwood timber core with fade resistant robust thermo plastic door skins, and come fitted with energy efficient Pilkington KS Glass. With your security firmly in mind, we also utilise a pick-resistant multi-point Astral S locking cylinder to maximise peace of mind.

Lockwood Windows stock an extensive range of stylish windows and doors - please get in touch, or visit our Huddersfield showroom, to request a quote or discuss your requirements.
